There are few things better than a really great sandwich. I am currently eating such a sandwich.
That’s a large Allitalia (prosciutto, capocollo, pepperoni, provolone) from The Sandwich Hut in Providence, RI with no tomatoes, no pickles, and the addition of smoked god damn mozzarella. I’m not sure there’s a better way to spend $10.

Counterpoint: Chipotle.

I don’t get the chipotle hype. It’s mediocre at best if you ask me.

Miss Tesla and I like going to a local sandwich shop that specializes in weird sandwiches (my favourite is the westerner, which is roast beef, cream cheese, bacon, chili, all the fixings, and other fun toppings). They also make monsters like this:
I think that’s their 10ft sub, Miss Tesla and I usually get their 3ft sub.

That’s fair. I quite enjoy it and when 99% of the other options near work are fast food chains, I’ll opt for Chipotle every time.

...I don’t even know what to say to this. It’s better than Taco Bell kinda?

Roast beef and cream cheese...that is definitely an interesting sandwich and something I might need to replicate.

If your only options are fast food then its understandable. Chipotle and qdoba are pretty much the only chain restaraunts I eat and even that is infrequent. I try to find locally owned restaurants if I’m out and need food.

I am no longer a chipotle fan, it just doesn’t tast good to me anymore. I don’t know what chnaged, it’s like they put too much seasoning on the meat or something.

It is certainly much more expensive.

Pretty sure this is illegal in Portland

I once tried to eat this (with plenty of help). It didn’t work.

There was a significant shift in ingredient processing after the E. coli scare; the taste has never been the same :’(

Battleship from the Triangle Bar & Grill outside Pittsburgh:
Any sandwich from Primanti’s:
But especially cap & egg:

I’ll nominate any of the sandwiches at AK Subs in San Francisco.
Nothing fancy but great sandwiches. I love meat but my favorite is Terry’s Treat: sun-dried tomatoes with melted monterey jack cheese served on your choice of bread with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, bell peppers, and cucumbers.

Honey roasted Tofurkey with motz, tomato, avocado, on ciabatta. Also a splash of redwine vinegar.

I must be a mutant, I haven’t had GI issues after eating Chipotle or Taco Bell.

What is that, ‘cause I think I need one.

I’ve never had it on a sandwich, but I’ve had something someone made for a trivia night that had roast beef, cream cheese, pickle and a couple other things rolled up. It was a pretty good combo.

the problem I have with (and why I don’t go to) places like Qdoba is that everything they make (especially the burritos) is goddamn huge. And doesn’t keep in the fridge worth a damn.

are these places all competing to see who can be the first to come up with a sandwich you can only eat if you can un-hinge your lower jaw like a python?

“The Regular” at Tony’s Subs in Johnstown, PA. I grew up on them, when dad would go get a large for the whole family. It’s ham, salami, onions, lettuce, and tomato on a shop-baked crunchy sub roll. It’s one of the only reasons to go back to Johnstown.

Pretty sure the place is owned by reptilian shapeshifters. Luckily it’s italian bread so the sandwich squishes pretty good.
Not a place to take a hot date though lol.
